(INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – November 9, 2007) - Q3 Innovations, LLC announced today the release of its new, patented, AlcoHAWK PT500 digital breath alcohol screener – the first AlcoHAWK model to incorporate an electrochemical fuel-cell sensor.

As the most advanced model in the line, the handheld AlcoHAWK PT500 incorporates the PT Core™ electrochemical fuel-cell sensor to quickly and accurately screen for the presence of alcohol from .000% up to .400% BAC. The PT Core™ electrochemical fuel-cell sensor is more sensitive to testing specifically for alcohol. As a result, the AlcoHAWK PT500 helps eliminate false positives that can result with traditional semi-conductor units when testing individuals containing high levels of ketones, which are often found in individuals with diabetes or someone on a fad diet.

The AlcoHAWK PT500 features an orange back-lit LCD display, a temperature display (adjustable between Fahrenheit and Celsius), a warning level indicator, a pressure scan sensor and automatic pump. In addition, the AlcoHAWK PT500 is the first AlcoHAWK model with advance menu options that allow the user to adjust the blowing time for a breath sample to offer greater flexibility when testing individuals with differing breath-sample capacities.
