As the most advanced model in the line, the handheld AlcoHAWK PT500 incorporates the PT Core™ electrochemical fuel-cell sensor to quickly and accurately screen for the presence of alcohol from .000% up to .400% BAC. The PT Core™ electrochemical fuel-cell sensor is more sensitive to testing specifically for alcohol. As a result, the AlcoHAWK PT500 helps eliminate false positives that can result with traditional semi-conductor units when testing individuals containing high levels of ketones, which are often found in individuals with diabetes or someone on a fad diet.

The AlcoHAWK PT500 features an orange back-lit LCD display, a temperature display (adjustable between Fahrenheit and Celsius), a warning level indicator, a pressure scan sensor and automatic pump. In addition, the AlcoHAWK PT500 is the first AlcoHAWK model with advance menu options that allow the user to adjust the blowing time for a breath sample to offer greater flexibility when testing individuals with differing breath-sample capacities. Mrs. Greiner, a 1993 graduate of Independence High School, obtained her B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Iowa in 1997. Prior to joining Q3 Innovations in 2006 as the Controller, Mrs. Greiner served as a Senior Auditor for Theobald, Donohue & Thompson, P.C. in Fairfield (2000 – 2004) and a Senior Auditor for Deloitte & Touche, LLP in Cedar Rapids (1997-2000). Q3 Innovations featured the AlcoHAWK® digital alcohol breathalyzers at the 35th RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) as riders across America stayed overnight in Independence. Q3 provided breathalyzer tests, can koozies, and t-shirts at their booth across from the beverage garden in Teacher’s Park. One team went as far as naming themselves TEAM ALCOHAWK, though not affiliated with Q3, and proudly advertised it on their support bus as they crossed Iowa.
